As-Built Drawings
During the construction stage, design alterations are common due to on-site constraints that may arise during this process. Consequently, when the work has been completed it is necessary to perform a metric and photographic survey of the works and to prepare as-built drawings showing what in fact was built.
As-built drawings are a set of drawings, reviewed after completion of the works, used as project design copies that identify all alterations during the construction stage.
When completed, as-built drawings may be used as a basis for future additions or alterations at the worksite. The drawings may also be used to prepare the fire safety design or for licensing purposes. Any alterations will be facilitated by consulting these drawings that contain all updated information.
