Licensing of Pharmacies

The installation and operation of a pharmacy is subject to a licensing process involving local authorities and INFARMED – the National Authority for Medicines and Health Products, and is regulated by Decree-Law no. 307/2007 of 31 August, amended by Decree-Law no. 75/2016 of 8 November.

INFARMED, which has a licensing unit on the Licensing+ Portal to analyse the different processes, is the entity responsible not only for licensing pharmacies, but also for entities dedicated to the manufacture, distribution, commercialisation and use of medicines for human use, medical devices, cosmetics, body hygiene products and others.

All these activities have different licensing mechanisms, which, depending on the type of activity, must be instructed with the appropriate process on the Licensing+ Portal.

Konceptness guarantees the success of the procedure for obtaining the necessary licences, authorisations and assessments from INFARMED; in accordance with current legislation.

The services we offer range from process instruction, change management and updates for the following activities::

  • Pharmacies;
  • Manufacturers of medicines for human use and medical devices;
  • Wholesalers of medicines for human use and medical devices;
  • Controlled substances;
  • Intermediation activities.

We are the perfect partner for obtaining the necessary licences or authorisations, providing integrated support for the entire process with the competent authorities responsible for licensing pharmacies.
